The 2025 recipient of the Annie Ibok Scholarship is Anniyah Littlejohn, from Bellflower, CA!
Anniyah Littlejohn is a first-year student at Spelman College, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with a concentration in Cosmetic Chemistry. A graduate of Mayfair High School, she earned a 3.97 GPA and graduated summa cum laude while balancing AP coursework, student government, and athletics. She served as Commissioner of Girls’ Athletics in her ASB and was captain of both the girls’ soccer and flag football teams, the latter of which she helped to establish. Her leadership and discipline earned her Scholar-Athlete recognition from the Suburban Valley Conference.

Her contributions extend well beyond the classroom. Anniyah volunteered over 100 hours at the Bellflower Volunteer Center, where she was named Volunteer Leader of the Term. She served as a youth leader at Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Compton, CA, and supported numerous community efforts through Together We Rise, including toy drives, backpack giveaways, and senior wellness programs. These commitments reflect a consistent focus on care, access, and service.

Anniyah has always looked for ways to meet real needs with tangible solutions. At 15, she launched Anniyah’s Hair Haven, a salon she built in her home with her mother to provide affordable beauty services to women in her neighborhood. That early experience in entrepreneurship, rooted in care and access, sparked a deeper interest in cosmetic chemistry and the science behind products designed for melanin-rich skin and textured hair.

Through her academic excellence, community leadership, and early entrepreneurship, Anniyah has already begun shaping spaces around her—for women in her neighborhood, for the youth she mentors, and for herself. The impact she’s made is both personal and collective, and the values that guide her reflect everything this scholarship seeks to uplift. We are proud to play a small role in that journey, and hope this award serves not only as a nod to a job well done, but as quiet encouragement to keep going—because her work is meaningful, and we’ll be cheering her on every step of the way.
